This year we took our benchmark tests and our state tests on
the computer. During one of my testing sessions in the computer lab, our
technology teacher asked me if I would let my kids use pens instead of pencils
because the erasers bit were getting in the keyboards and ruining them.
What happened next was nothing short of a miracle. My
handful of kiddo that usually work every problem out in their “heads” and don’t
have a need for scratch at all, decided to use their scratch paper. Our kiddos are only allowed to use pencil in
class so using a pen is a fun privilege.
I immediately filled out a purchase order for a bunch of
green Pentel Rolling Writers. My kiddos love the way these pens write. The
paper above is from a student who used to turn in blank scratch paper.
