How a Pen Change My Math Class

This year we took our benchmark tests and our state tests on the computer. During one of my testing sessions in the computer lab, our technology teacher asked me if I would let my kids use pens instead of pencils because the erasers bit were getting in the keyboards and ruining them.

What happened next was nothing short of a miracle. My handful of kiddo that usually work every problem out in their “heads” and don’t have a need for scratch at all, decided to use their scratch paper.  Our kiddos are only allowed to use pencil in class so using a pen is a fun privilege.

I immediately filled out a purchase order for a bunch of green Pentel Rolling Writers. My kiddos love the way these pens write. The paper above is from a student who used to turn in blank scratch paper.
